We got a Wii

And it is as fun as Nintendo told me it would be. Everybody except my mother-in-law has been able to pick up the remote and start playing. That's to be expected because the Wii clearly is in the "technology" category that tends to befuddle her. Good times for the rest of us.

I predict right now that within a month, I'll be sitting in the ER, blood pouring from a gash in my child's forehead because they wandered too close to mommy & daddy while we were boxing. That ought to be fun to explain.

This just in ...

When the kids take a bath, Patty gives them this little tablets that change the color of the water. Dayton discovered that these tablets can be rubbed on the body, leaving a trail of color.

I let you figure out what he did. Here's what he said as he wandered out of the bathroom:

"Hey! My penis is bleeding!"

Why I love Christmas

Kids make everything fun. A 6-year-old with a sense of humor makes everything even more fun.

For a few days now, gifts have been popping up under the tree. One for mom. A couple for Riley. Something for me. Dayton was quick to notice that nothing yet had his name on it. This wasn't intentional, just the way things shake out. Finally, last night, a gift is placed under the tree for him.

Wandering by the tree today, I see Dayton has found our stash of office supplies.

Apparently, he is pleased.

Making the switch

After spending some time with Xanga, I think I've seen enough good stuff over here to make the switch. Updates as warranted.
